Introduction to new package types
The Course and Class Packages are new package types that offer new ways to subscribe to and use Opiq, alongside the existing School and Private User packages.
Course Package a package intended for school use; the licence gives pupils and teacher access to one study kit in the course. Intended for teachers who want to use a specific study kit in their teaching.
Class Package a package intended for school use, the licence of which gives pupils access to all study kits in the Class Package (pupils' main package) and teachers access to study kits for that grade level. Suitable for use if the school does not offer the School Package, but the parents and teacher of the class still want to use Opiq as an additional learning resource.
The Course and Class Package can only be ordered by users in the role of teacher
There are three options for paying for your Course or Class Package order:
- the teacher pays for the entire order;
- the pupil or parent pays for their share of the order;
- designated persons (e.g., a company or parent) pay for their share of the order.
The Course and Class Package can only be ordered by users in the role of teacher for pupils and teachers of their existing course.
Course and Class Package licences are ordered and added to those pupils and teachers who are members of the course at the time of ordering. If pupils or teachers are added to the course after the order has been placed, it is not possible to order new licences for them within the same order, but a new order must be placed that includes all pupils in the course.
To obtain a teacher licence via Class Package for a teacher who is not a teacher in the course for which the order was submitted, please contact Opiq user support. Soon, additional teachers' licences can be managed on the order page of the teacher who placed the order.
Instructions for teachers on how to order the Course and Class package
To place an order, the course for which licenses are being ordered must already exist with all of its pupils and teachers included.
- To order open the menu under your (teacher's) name, select "My orders" > "Place an order" and choose either the Course Package or the Class Package as the licence type.
- Select the courses for which you wish to order licences for teachers and pupils. If there are more study kits in a course than one, then it is possible to select study kit(s) one by one for which you wish to order licences.
- Select the valid from date. NB! If pupils or designated persons are paying for the order, the valid from date of the licence should be set with a margin, as it may take time for the installments to be paid. The licence for a pupil who has paid for the order will be valid from the specified date immediately after payment, while the teacher's licence will be valid once the invoices for all pupil licences have been paid.
- Select the licence validity period (the package can be ordered for 1-3 months)
- If desired, teacher licences can be added to the order.
- Choosing payers. There are three ways to pay:
- Course pupils or their parents pay. The order will be sent to the pupils' Opiq dashboard for confirmation. The amount will be divided equally among all pupils in the course, and a message about their contribution will appear on each pupils' dashboard with a button to pay for it. The pupils' licence will be assigned immediately after their contribution has been paid. The teacher's licence will be assigned once all pupils' contributions have been paid.
- Designated persons pay. You should enter the payers with whom payment has been agreed in advance (and their e-mail addresses). The amount will be divided equally between the payers and each of them will receive an e-mail with a link to their payment page. Licences will be assigned for both pupils and teachers after all installments have been paid. There can also be only one designated payer.
- I will pay myself. You can use your own money or, for example, class funds to pay. Order confirmation and payment will continue as when ordering a private user package, where you can pay by bank transfer or card payment. Licences are assigned for pupils and teachers immediately after payment.
Order summary and confirmation and warning messages for existing licences
Before confirming your order, please carefully review the order summary. It lists the licence recipients, the package, and the period for which the licence will be assigned to each recipient. Please note that order cannot be changed later.
In addition, warning messages will be displayed in the order summary if any of the pupils or teachers already have a licence that gives access to the corresponding study kits. For example, if a class licence has already been purchased for pupils in another course, there is no point in purchasing duplicate licences for them.
Which study kits can be ordered?
Course Package options
With the Course Package you can order access to study kits used in that course. If there are several study kits used in the course, you can choose which study kit(s) to purchase licences for.
Class Package options
With the Class Package you can order licence which gives pupils access to all study kits in the pupil's basic package and up to three teachers access to study kits on the corresponding grade level. With one order you can order one Class Package.
If Class Package is selected as the license type, then in the "Create Order" section, you must specify which course and which grade level study kit you wish to order a license for. After selecting the Class Package, you can specify the start date and validity period of the license and, if desired, add teacher licenses if you want more than three teachers to have access. The Class Package includes free licenses for three teachers, provided that all three teachers are added to the course before the time of ordering.
