London calling

Kuula ja loe õpetaja meil ette.

Dear class,

This year, our first day trip is a “city holiday”. We will travel next Thursday by school minibus to London. We will leave at 9 am from the school playground and return around 5 pm. You should bring a packed lunch and something to drink with you. You may also take a small amount of money for a snack, ice cream or souvenirs (max £5). Here are six famous sights in London. Which ones do you find the most interesting? Go online if you want to get more information. You can choose 2-3 sights. We’ll talk about these in class on Friday.

Best wishes,
Mr Jones

Hey kids! I’m Nessie and I live in the great Loch Ness in Scotland.

Loch is how you say lake in Scottish. Loch Ness is about 36 kilometres long and 300 metres deep. It’s very narrow: only about one and a half kilometres wide. Many tourists come by buses to Loch Ness to see me, but I’m a little shy and I don’t come out very often.

When you’re at Edinburgh Castle, remember to cover your ears at one o’clock: a cannon fires at one o’clock every day except on Sundays.
